Obituary of Edna Louise Murray

EDNA LOUISE MURRAY Edna L. Murray, a Washougal resident, died Monday, August 30th at Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver. She was 86. Edna was born May 11, 1918 in Cornelius, Oregon to Ida Horstmann and Michael Sturm. She grew up in the Hillsboro area and met her husband there. She and Mervin Murray were married in 1937. They made their home in the Camas-Washougal area and were married 57 years before his death in 1994. Edna was a member of the Camas Moose Lodge and a former member of the 49ers Trailer Club. She loved to bowl and was in several leagues. She was an avid gardener - it was her passion. She loved traveling and could always be seen with a skein of yarn and crochet hook in her hands. Mrs. Murray is survived by her sons, Edwin M. Murray of Sequim, Wash., Stan and Peter Murray, both of Camas, Wash.; daughter, Shirley Hagensen of Camas, Wash.; sisters Myrtle Ogelsby of Forest Grove, Ore. and Esther Wolfe of Hillsboro, Ore. as well as 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Graveside services with vault interment for Edna Murray will be Thursday September 2nd at 2 PM at Washougal Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 10am to 5pm and Thursday from 9am to noon at Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas.
