Obituary of Veloise Elizabeth Davis

VELOISE ELIZABETH DAVIS Veloise Elizabeth Davis died Saturday July 31, 2004 at home in Washougal, Wash. She was 96. Veloise was born December 18, 1907 in Galt, IA to Clarence and Anna Osborne Litts. She attended school in Galt and graduated from Iowa Methodist Nursing School in Des Moines in 1929. She moved to Washington State in 1930 where she met and married James Davis in 1934. Veloise was a member of Salmon Falls Chapel and the American Legion Cape Horn Post 122 both in Washougal. She was preceded in death by her husband, James and son, Michael. Survivors include her sons, James Davis, Jr. of Temecula, CA, Rev. Ted Davis of Grants Pass, OR; daughters, Joy Sue Newman of Vancouver, Joanna Phillips of Washougal; 16 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. A graveside service will be Thursday, August 5 at 11am at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 2pm at Salmon Falls Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm at Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas. Straub?s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial donations can be given to Hospice Southwest @ P.O. Box 1600, Vancouver, WA 98668.
