Obituary of Steven Bill Califf

STEVEN BILL CALIFF Steven Califf, of Camas, passed away Thursday, July 1 in Portland, OR. He was 51. Mr. Califf was born December 17, 1952 in Camp Hanford, WA. He grew up in Estacada, OR where he graduated from high school in 1971. Later that year he married Gloria Gray and they made Estacada their home until 1994. While living in Estacada, Steve worked as a lumber grader at a saw mill for 22 years. In 1993 he started working in the family owned Silver Star Cabinets business. Steven enjoyed baseball, fly fishing, running, and golfing. He was an active member of Gateway Community Church in Washougal where he lead Bible Studies and served as Deacon Board Chairman. He is remembered as having a great wit and humor about him. He is survived by his wife, Gloria, at home; daughters, Sarah Penna and Debbie McAulay both of Vancouver, WA; son, Mathias Califf of Washougal, WA; parents, William and Elnora Califf of Washougal, WA; sisters, Renee Skiffington of LaConnor, WA, Vicky Califf of Vancouver, WA; brothers, Matthew and Mark Califf both of Washougal, WA; and 5 grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 6 at 1pm at the Bethel Community Church in Washougal. Burial will be private at the Camas Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9-11am at Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas. Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
