GERALD ?JER-BEAR? HIGDON
Talented woodworker and avid fisherman, Gerald W. Higdon passed away June 25, 2004 at the age of 44 due to an industrial accident. Jerry was born October 5, 1959, in Vancouver, WA. He lived his entire life in Washougal, WA. He graduated from Washougal High School in 1978 where he excelled in football, wrestling, and track and field.
Jerry was an incredible son, brother, uncle and friend. He was always willing to share his gifts and talents to anyone in need. He was a giver and never hesitated to grab his tool belt to help.
Jerry also loved to cook and always brought a delicious dessert or smoked figh to family gatherings.
His smile, laughter, and twinkling eyes brought a presence of joy to everyone he met.
As a son he always made his parent?s proud. As a brother he was a friend and always had a wealth of knowledge to share. As an uncle, Jer-Bear was a fun loving kid who always had time to play.
Survivors include his parents, Fred and Alice Higdon of Washougal; his sister, Karen Johnson of Stevenson; two brothers, Ron Higdon and Ed Higdon both of Washougal, and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, June 30th at 3PM at Parkside Church in Camas. Burial will be in Sifton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children?s Ward at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in loving memory of Jerry Higdon @ Legacy Emanuel Children?s Hospital 2801 N. Gantanbein Rd., Portland, OR 97227.
