Obituary of Helen Norene Campen

HELEN NORENE CAMPEN Helen Campen, of Washougal, passed away Wednesday, June 23 at SW Washington Medical Center in Vancouver. She was 91. Helen was born October 6, 1912 in Vancouver. She graduated from Vancouver High School and married Vernon Campen in 1936. They made their home in Washougal where Helen was a homemaker. She was an active member at Bethel Community Church in Washougal and enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Helen was also a good cook. She and Vernon liked to travel and had visited all 50 states and several foreign countries. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary in 1968. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Vernon, at home; daughter, Norene Hohensee of Oregon City, OR; son, Lowell Campen of Vancouver; 7 grandchildren and 18 grandchildren. A graveside service will be Friday, June 25at 2pm at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 26at 11am at the Bethel Community Church in Washougal. Visitation will be Friday from 9am to 1pm at Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas.
