ALVIN ?BILL? EPLEY
Bill Epley, age 82, passed away Wednesday, May 12 at home in Camas.
He was born November 22, 1921 in Nelson, NE where he grew up before moving to Camas in 1935. He went to work at the paper mill and was later drafted into the Army during WWII. After his military service he returned to Camas an his job at the paper mill. Bill married Virginia Benninghoff on December 27, 1945 in Camas where they made their home. After 42 years, he retired from the mill in 1987 as a brick mason.
Bill was a lifetime member and a pilgrim degree holder at the Camas Moose Lodge #1042. He also enjoyed camping and gardening.
Bill is survived by his wife, Virginia, at home; brother, Russell Epley of Vancouver; sister, Helen Hansen of Corvallis, OR; 3 nephews and 1 niece.
A memorial service will be held Monday, May 24 at 12:30pm at the Camas Moose Lodge. A luncheon will follow. Inurnment will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Straub?s Funeral Home & Columbia River Crematory was in charge of the arrangements.
