LaRena Viola Butler LaRena Butler passed away, Sat. May 22 at home in Washougal. She was 90. LaRena Viola Easley was born December 17, 1913 to Frank and Anna Easley in Stevenson, WA. She attended Stevenson school, where she completed 8 grades. LaRena married John Butler of Skamania, WA on October 14, 1931. Her first son, John Jr. was born October 19, 1932; and her other son, James was born January 27, 1938. Mrs. Butler was happy and content being a wife and mother, and making a nice home for her family in Skamania. Her son, John Jr. was killed on April 8, 1965. Her husband, John Sr. passed away on May 15, 1983; and her son, Jim was killed on January 1, 1987. In spite of her sorrow, she managed to maintain her flower gardens; and she enjoyed trips to the coast, and to Reno. She also looked forward to family gatherings; and reading was her favorite pastime. LaRena is the last surviving child of her parents, as her brothers and sisters went before her. She leaves 8 grandchildren: Cindy, Vicki, Debbie, Sage Butch, Kari, Patti, John III, and Jimmy; and 15 great grandchildren. At her request, she will be cremated and there will be no services. Straub?s Funeral Home & Columbia River Crematory in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
