MARY EVELYN LORENZ Mary Lorenz, of Camas, passed away Wednesday, August 4 in Vancouver. She was 83. Mary was born February 15, 1921 in Camas to Henry and Nola Austin Ostenson. She grew up in Camas and after high school attended the University of Oregon for one year. She got a job in San Francisco in 1943 and her boyfriend, Kenneth Lorenz, followed her there. The two of them eloped on January 24, 1944 in San Francisco. They then moved back to Camas where Mary became a homemaker. She was a member of Orchard Hills Country Club, the Camas United Methodist Church and Alpha Nu. She loved sports and playing bridge. Mary also liked the beach, swimming, shopping, reading and music. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, in 1999. Survivors include her three daughters, Sherry Lorenz-Hunt of Washougal, Laurie Havener of Camas and Diane Ellibee of Vancouver; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. A funeral service will be Thursday, August 12 at 10am at Straub?s Funeral Home in Camas. Vault interment will follow at the Camas Cemetery.
