Obituary of Floyd Andrew Jensen

FLOYD ANDREW JENSEN Floyd Andrew Jensen of Vancouver, died Wednesday July 21st at the Ray Hickey Hospice House in Vancouver. Mr. Jensen had just celebrated his 94th birthday. He was born July 3, 1910 in Wakonda, SD to Olga Esther Ingebor and Waldomar Jensen. Floyd obtained his Batchelor?s Degree from University of Sioux Falls. He married Fern Richardson in 1934. They moved to Colton, Oregon in the late 1930?s and he worked as the Superintendent of Schools. The family moved to Parkrose, Ore. in 1947 where he managed a theater on Sandy Boulevard. He eventually got into brokering business sales and ended up exclusively selling mortuaries. He retired in 1982. Fern died in 2002 and he married Mary Ann Melton in 2003. Mr. Jensen was a member of the United Church of Christ in Parkrose, Ore. where he took an active role. He loved traveling in his motor home and also enjoyed woodworking. Floyd is survived by his wife Mary in Vancouver; daughter Ladonna Rorabeck of Nehalem, Ore.; sisters Bernice Millett of Gresham, Ore and Ione Hoppel of Warren, Ore. as well as three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Fern; their son Eugene in 1987, a grandson Jason in 2001 and a brother Harrison in 2002. Funeral services for Floyd Jensen will Monday, July 26th at 10 AM at the Parkrose United Church of Christ, on the corners of NE Wygant and 105th. Vault interment will follow at 1PM at Park Hill Cemetery in Vancouver, Washington.
