Nancy J. Huseman passed away February 8, 2017, at the age of 80. Shortly after her birth in Iola, Kansas, to Leroy S. & Mary P. nee Godfrey Thompson, the family moved to Camas, Washington. After Nancy graduated from Camas High School in 1954, she married Loren D. Hancock. They lived for a short time in Alaska, where he was stationed with the US Coast Guard. Upon returning to the states, they made their home in Washougal, and later Camas, where they raised their four daughters: Beth Cross, Cathy Hancock, Janice Hancock, and Melinda Hancock. In 1978 Nancy married Arlin D. Huseman.
Nancy was an accomplished seamstress, making sure each daughter had 5 different dresses to wear before the start of the new school year. Nancy also did day-care and was active in PTA. She worked a few years in the napkin department at Crown Zellerbach, at Pendleton Woolen Mills, and was unit secretary for SW Washington Medical Center Psychiatric Unit.
Nancy enjoyed salmon fishing with her son-in-law, Rick Cross and his fishing buddies out of Ilwaco, WA, digging razor clams in Surfside, WA and antelope hunting in Montana.
Besides her husband and daughters, Nancy is survived by 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include her brother, Gary Thompson; her sister, Barbara Neiman; an aunt in Kansas; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
