I don't know if the family will still get this, but I've been thinking of Mr. Walling, my 4th grade teacher at Helen Baller in 1968 or so. I hope this is the same man. He was my absolute favorite teacher. I remember spelling bees, especially. He was very encouraging of us. A very good man!!

My first year of teaching was in Camas in a 4th grade class in 1955-'56. Bob Walling and Alice Gee were the other two 4th grade teachers. Both were wonderful people. Sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I'm glad he had a productive and happy life. I'll offer prayers for Bob and his family.

My mother wanted me to post this for her... "Robert will be missed by everyone. He was a very nice special person. I've known him since grade school. He was a fine teacher and family man. He loved to ride his bike and did so for years. it was a better world because of his presence. I'll miss his friendship and so will many others." Regina Enge

So sorry to hear of Mr Wallings passing. My mom will soon be 91 and was a life long friend of Bob's. They went to school together in Vancouver. Mom said they have been friends since Jr High or even middle school? A long time. They communicated wrote letters keeping in touch.
