Kristina Hanna Clark 6/20/50 -12/6/16
Kristina Hanna Clark, wife, mother, architect, best friend, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in her home in Camas, WA. She departed this world for her next adventure surrounded by those who love her most: her husband and life companion of 46 years, James G. Clark of Camas, WA, her daughters, Jessie, 34, of Reno, NV and Hillary, 28, of Milwaukie, OR, and her Samoyed dogs, Ivan, 11, and Loki, 3. She also bids farewell to her brother and sister-in-law, Philip and Eileen Hanna of Eugene, OR, and grandchildren, Avery, 3, and Charlie, 6 of Kansas City, MO. Kristina was born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 20th 1950, the daughter of Boyd and Hazel Hanna. She met her husband and best friend, Jim, at Ohio State University in 1968, the year Woody Hayes led the Buckeyes to a national championship. After moving to Oregon in 1972, she graduated with a Bachelors of Architecture from the University of Oregon in 1978. Her legacy as an architect lives on in the beautiful homes that dot her 40-year journey across the American West in Colorado, Idaho, Arizona, Oregon, and Washington. She continued to pursue higher education and she received an MBA from Concordia University in 2012. She was a fantastic cook, artist, philosopher, confidante, and spiritual beacon. She was the best person we ever knew. In her final months, as cancer afflicted her body, her faithful pal Ivan was often by her side. In March 2016 she wrote a few words to live by: "Things I learned from my dog about approaching the end of life": 1. Accept all scratches and love, 2. Don't answer the door – let the younger dog get it, and go up the stairs only if it's important, 3. Eat voraciously while you can, 4. Sleep until your master says it's time to get up, 5. Play like a puppy at the dog park, 6. Accept the loss of a body part 7. Maintain your dignity. Kristina left this world as she lived it, with beauty and grace.
