Obituary of Robert Lee Peterson

Robert Lee Peterson passed away on September 15, 2016 in Camas, Washington. He was 92 and a resident of Washougal, WA for 63 years.
Robert was born on December 13, 1923 in Sioux City, Iowa the son of George and Verna Finnegan Peterson.
Robert is a Veteran of World War II having served in the Navy in the South Pacific. After the war, Robert began his career in law enforcement working eight years for the Los Angeles Police Department. Then in 1953 he moved his family to Washington State where he worked for the Washougal Police Department achieving the rank of Chief. After leaving police work, Robert started his own pilot car business where he continued until retirement.
Robert had a passion for fishing, camping, traveling, Sunday drives, and family barbeques. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He taught them to fish and even coached their Little League teams.
Robert is survived by his wife of 70 years Harriet; daughters Linda John Lester of Nahcotta, Washington, Laura Daniel Morales, Karen David Milton, and Kathleen Ron Smith all of Washougal. Robert had 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his sons Robert Jr. and Steven Connie-deceased and his brother George.
Graveside services conducted by Pastor Toddrick Futter were held on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors.
