It's hard for me to believe that it has been nearly 50 years since I first met Don at the Zeta Psi Fraternity house in Troy. We became great friends, shared many interests, attended classes, and socialized. We parted company when we left RPI in '71 but continued to cross paths both professionally and personnaly later in the 70's, 80's and 90's. I really enjoyed the interactions; Don always brought something unique to them. He was witty, engaged, thoughtful and entertaining. I always learned something and always enjoyed Don's company. I'll miss him. I offer my deepest condolences to Lynne, Ken, Daryl and family.

Lynne and Family: I was deeply saddened by the news that Don had passed. I now am truly sorry that I did not make more of an effort to keep in touch. I do not have a phone number or address for you, so I couldn't call. I have many, many fond memories of Don and of you. I recall your wedding night and it seems like yesterday. Please drop me an e-mail when you can with your number and address. Pass along my condolences to your sons, their wives and children. Take car of yourself. Ken

Don was my Fraternity Brother at the Pi Chapter of Zeta PSi at Rensselaer. His friendship did not end with departure from school. I have many fond memories of Don from college and from the several times we were able to get together over the years. I and his other Fraternity Brothers will miss him. He was a great friend and supporter of his Fraternity. My love and prayers go out to Lynne and their sons. Don will be missed by all who knew him.

Lynne and family, The Dyer family sends their sympathies to you all. We have fond memories of Don.I can remember Don and his buddy with their heads under the hood of a car in the summertime. We still refer to the house next door as "VanLuvanee's". Love, the Dyer's

The high tech community, Oregon higher education, the folks that had the honor to work for or with Don has lost a much admired friend. Don was always not just the boss but a mentor and friend. Sense his retirement myself and another long time ESI employee got together several times a year for lunch and a visit. It was a time I always enjoyed. Helen and my thoughts and prayers are with his wife Lynne and family.

One of the most respectable men I have known - it was always a blessing to know him as family, as Uncle. It was easy to look to Uncle Don as a man who lived his life the right way, just as he learned from his father. Our thoughts and prayers are with Aunt Lynne, cousins Ken and Daryl, and the grandchildren. Dan and Dana Kanabroski, children Matthew, Evan, and Emma, and baby Camden.
