Wow I never thought I'd be saying goodbye to one of the greatest role models I've ever met. John you've influenced me in so many ways, you made me into a pitcher I thought I'd never become. Every time I step on the rubber I feel you standing right there by my side. You are a big impact in my life and many others. I will always remember "the elephant". You'll always be my role model, pitching coach, and family. John I miss and love you so much! Every time I step on the mound I'll make you proud. I'll see you when it's my timeâ?¾ï¸?â?¤ï¸? We are so saddened by the news of John's passing. He was such an amazing man. He coached my daughter, Addy, in pitching and made such an impact on her life. We always looked forward to our monthly pitching sessions with him in Walla Walla. RIP, John! We know you'll be smiling down every time Addy steps on the mound!

My deepest sympathy to all the family, I was best friends with his daughter and went to school with his kids........was always at his house or watching softball games with the family! He was a very easy going dad and loved by his kids VERY MUCH!

I miss John so much we are praying for your family. The things John taught me will stay with me the rest of my life and from that advice I will build on it and make him proud I hope you guys are doing good and you are in our prayers.â?¤ Love Zoe. John played such a role in our lives in the few short years that we new him. John and Anita are the most generous people i have ever had the pleasure to know. They have opened their home, their hearts, and all the knowledge that John had acquired over the last 50 yrs. Thankyou John for lighting the fire in my girl that burns hotter every time she throws a softball and for giving her the confidence to be a great pitcher and the ability to set her sights on a dream that would seem unattainable to anyone who hadnt learned from John Gay.
