Obituary of Robert L. Avery

ROBERT L. AVERY Robert Avery passed away at his home in Camas on January 17, 2016. He was 58. Robert was born February 24, 1957 in Smithfield, NC. He proudly served in the Oregon Air National Guard for 35 years as the 142nd Fighter Wing Weapons Safety Manager. Robert loved fly fishing, yearly trips to Montana, working on his classic car, camping and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his father, Pete Avery; mother, Mazey Avery and brother, Barry Avery. He is survived by his wife, Katy Avery of Camas; daughter, Elysia Avery of Vancouver; 3 step sons, Anthony, Ryan and Kyle Steinmetz; and father & mother-in-law, Mike & Nancy Chappell of Washougal. Services will be held on Sunday, February 21 at 1pm at the 142nd Fighter Wing Portland Oregon Air National Guard Base.
