Obituary of Vernon Moore Campen

VERNON M. CAMPEN Vernon Moore Campen was born September 22, 1912 at home in Washougal. Vernon graduated from Washougal High School in 1931. He passed away on January 3, 2016 at the age of 103. He was a member of Bethel Community Church in Washougal and operated a Grade A dairy on his farm east of Washougal for many years. He also had worked at the Vancouver Shipyard, Washougal Woolen Mill, and at various logging operations through the years. Mr. Campen liked to travel and visited all 50 states and several foreign counties. His son, Gary, died February 5, 1968 in Vietnam. His wife, Helen, passed away June 23, 2004. Survivors include his daughter, Norene Donald Hohensee of Oregon City, OR; son, Lowell Diane Campen of Washougal, WA; 7 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 9 at 11AM at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at Bethel Community Church in Washougal at 2PM.
