Marjorie Frances Lishman
9/27/1931 – 11/22/2015
Our loving mother and friend, passed away in Vancouver, Washington with family by her side.
She was born in Wilson, Texas to parents Tommy D. Lishman and Seddie A. Moffitt. She graduated in the 1948 class of Tahoka, TX High School and married her childhood sweetheart Howard W. Martin the same year. They had four children, raising them amid frequent relocations throughout California, New Mexico, and Texas.
She earned many academic accreditations, including: From CSU at San Francisco, a BS in Human Resources & Organizational Behavior and an MBA in Hospital Administration. From CSU Hayward, an MBA in Public Administration. From Palo Alto, CA School of Hypnotherapy certifications, specializing in Inner Child Therapies. From multiple schools, certifications in genealogical research.
She applied gained skills in many jobs. Including a 1966-1996 career for the California VA Hospital systems and a few years for the City of Lubbock, TX... In 2000, she and family members Tommie Dean & Jonnie Moffitt, complied and published a genealogy book titled "Some Descendants of James Lishman".
She excelled in every hobby she attempted, including: cooking , crafting, gardening, garage sailing, garment making, quilting extraordinaire, reading, storytelling, water color and oil painting, global traveling.
She is preceded in death by her youngest son, Tommy W. Martin of Truckee, CA. and by her ex-husband.
She is survived by: daughter Christy B. Rehbein of Brush Prairie, WA; son Roger A. Martin of Mound House, NV; daughter Lucia A. Martin of Truckee, CA; niece Lesley Denise Lishman-Prewitt of Wimberley, TX; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; three step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren and many friends.
We thank her for her nurturing, her unconditional love & friendship, and for her encouragements.
We miss her quick smile, her hearty laughter, her zest for life, and her lively stories.
