Satoko "Satch" Strama Satoko Kaneko Strama passed away peacefully on October 29, 2015 at 7:15 PM in her home surrounded by her family. Satch was born on February 12, 1926 to Kotaro and Tori Kaneko in Tokyo, Japan. In 1952, Satch met Victor J Strama in Japan and ultimately married him on April 1, 1954. After being discharged from the Army, Satch and Victor moved to Martins Ferry, Ohio where she and her husband opened up a small bakery. In 1963, they had a daughter, Vickie. Over the years this small family moved to many cities; South Bend, IN, Chicago, IL, Philadelphia, PA to name a few. Satch stayed at home to watch over their daughter. Ultimately in 1981, she and Victor moved to Pottstown, PA where she stayed until 1995. In 1995, Satch moved to Washington State in order to help her daughter, Vickie in raising her children while she and her husband worked. Satch was a very giving and selfless person who always put others ahead of her own needs. With that, Satch always tried to be as independent as she could and was very strong-willed. There was no winning any kind of disagreement with her. She enjoyed making origami cranes, gardening and most of all, she treasured her family. She was preceded in death by her grandson, David Lee Moreland. She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Strama Moreland, her husband Dennis and her six grandchildren; Shanyn Nichelle Lindsey, Pryce Edward Garrison, Taylor Rei Moreland, Brandy Marie Martin, husband Nathan and great granddaughter, Maya Marie Danley, Katie Sue Demchek, husband, John and great grandson, Skylar Jakob Bugajski. Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas wa sin charge of the arrangements. To send condolences or to sign the online guestbook please visit www.straubsfuneralhome.com.
