HOLLY SHANK Our mother, beloved sister and friend, Holly A. Shank past away in the presence of loved ones on September 17th, 2015. Above all, Holly's spirit was full of love, kindness and generosity. She loved people, and everyone loved her! Her sweet, fun-loving nature warmed the hearts of many. Holly's generosity was a constant support to her friends and family. Holly was a woman with fine taste. She adored artwork, music, theatre, elegant homemaking, jewelry and the culinary world. She had a keen eye for quality, detail and beauty. She was an avid reader with biographies being her favorite. Holly had great appreciation for people's personal stories. Holly grew up in Longview, WA with her parents Mocky and Harold and her brothers. She graduated from Woodland High School, class of 1960. She married her high school sweetheart Greg Schmidt and began her family life in Vancouver, WA. They moved to Missoula, MT when there eldest child was 6. She lived in Montana for 4 years until she moved back to Beaverton, OR to share her life her life with John Shank. Holly was able to explore her love of adventure with John traveling around the world and spending half the year in Palm Desert, CA. Holly is survived by her children ANN and Bill Matthews and their children Thomas, Michael and Holly….ANDREW and Dayra Schmidt and their children Raquel, Rebecca and Alexander….AMY Schmidt and Kreg Trani and their children Alivia and Samara. Holly was at the birth of every grandchild. In addition to her children she is survived her brothers DAVID and Leona Weedman and TRACY and Lori Weedman. And last, but not least, her loyal dog "Cuddles." Holly, aka "Grammy," "Mamasita" and "Graham Cracker" was treasured and loved and will be dearly missed.
