RALPH A. HOUSEHOLDER
Ralph A. Householder passed away peacefully on September 8, 2015. Many will remember Ralph's laugh. Those who knew him professionally will also remember "Attitude" and "Excellence". Those who knew him personally will also remember his kindness and generosity.
He was born September 14, 1931 in Ellwood City, PA. He served in the US Army as a military police officer during the Korean War. He worked 34 years for State Farm Insurance, his last position being Operations Vice President in Salem, OR which he held until his retirement in 1993.
He ran a marathon, climbed a mountain and jumped out of an airplane. He liked to keep a clean car and a neat yard and was more than happy to help you do the same. He left a "luv" note for his wife, Cathy, every day on a napkin for her to use with her morning coffee. It was a life well lived.
Survivors include his bride of 39 years, Catherine, son Joseph A., stepchildren Heather Devine and Jason Devine, brother David Householder, sister Sharon Householder and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no service. He was a good man. He will be missed. Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas was in charge of the arrangements. To send condolences or to sign the online guestbook lease visit www.straubsfuneralhome.com.
