Obituary of Janet E. Fjermestad

JANET FJERMESTAD Janet Engeborg Hansen Fjermestad passed away on Sept. 5, 2015 in Vancouver, WA. Janet was born December 5, 1919 on a farm in Bricelyn, MN as the second child of Northrup and Ruby Hansen. She married Clifford Fjermestad on Feb. 28, 1941 in Vancouver, WA. They lived in the Camas area since 1941. He preceded her in death in 1988. Janet's siblings are, Wesley of Madras, OR who died in 2006, Raymond of Aurora, Co who died in 2013, Maxine Qualls of Tucson, AZ, Richard of Camas, WA who died in 2014 and Mary Newman of Camas, WA. She had six children. Sandra Cochran of Vancouver, WA; Danny Fjermestad who died in England in 1967; Michael Fjermestad of Washougal, WA; Sharon Kay of Redlands, CA; Nancy Hammrich of Washougal and Roger Fjermestad of Kelso, WA. There are 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. Janet was a stay at home mom and was active in the Paradise Community Church and LaCamas Bible Church. She taught Sunday School for many years and played piano for 50 years. She enjoyed reading, knitting baby blankets and caring for her animals. The celebration of Janet's life will be held on September 20 at 2pm at the LaCamas Heights Baptist Church 4727 Everett in Camas, WA. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite charity. Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas was in charge of the arrangements.
