JC Garber
JC was born in Spokane, WA to Clifford and Esther Garber. He is survived by his wife, Linda Garber; daughter, Leslie Alan Davis: step-son, Mike Drake; and granddaughter, Misty Mark Bork. JC served in the Navy during WWII. He married Linda on February 10, 1979 and spent 36 wonderful years together exploring this great area. They enjoyed going to garage sales, taking long drives with their dogs, taking the dogs for walks at the various local parks, working around their property they restored their 1800's farm house together, collecting items of décor for their yard/home, exploring new dining places, and just sharing in each others company. They touched the lives of so many young people when they ran a youth group in the late 1980's at the local Salvation Army. JC retired from Pacific NW Bell in 1984. In JC's younger years he enjoyed roller skating and even taught his niece and nephew some of his great moves. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed boating, camping and fishing. In JC's later years he took up jewelry making and had quite a knack for it. His beautiful gifts were a huge hit amongst the women in his family. His stories, sense of humor, quick wit, and easy going demeanor will surely be missed.
At JC's request, there will be no memorial services, but the family would like to give special thanks to Community Home Health & Hospice for the wonderful care provided to JC in his last months of life. Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas was in charge of the arrangements. To send condolences or to sign the online guestbook please visit www.straubsfuneralhome.com.
