Helen Brown
Helen Joann Brown peacefully passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015 in Vancouver, Washington. Born on November 10, 1931 in Camas, Washington to Gerald and Helen Duncan Craig; Helen was 83 years old.
A lifetime Camas-Washougal resident; Helen was a graduate of Camas High School where she played the trumpet in the High School Band. She met the love of her life George B. Brown while working at the Liberty Theater in Camas. Helen and George were longtime members at St. John's Presbyterian Church and enjoyed traveling to all of the beaches along the Oregon Coast. Helen enjoyed sewing, raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
Helen is survived by her sons Michael Kathy Brown; Douglas Laurie Brown; and Bradley Karen Brown; brother Jerry Darlene Craig; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years George B. Brown in 2014.
There will be a celebration of Helen's life on Saturday; August 15th at 10:00 am at Straub's Funeral Home: 325 NE 3rd Avenue, Camas, WA 98607. Private vault interment will be held at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen's name may be sent to the American Alzheimer's Association.
