George Edward Hubbard
November 14, 1920 - March 30, 2015
George Hubbard died March 30, 2015, in Washougal, Washington. He was born in Salem, Oregon, November, 14 1920 to Alice Mabel Rudling and Joseph Wade Hubbard. George and his family moved to Washougal when he was 16. Rather than go to a new high school,
he went to work. First, cutting, hauling, and delivering fire wood with Ben Cavitt, then Boeing, US Army, Liberty Theater, manager/school bus driver, and
Pendleton Woolen Mills from which he retired. He came home from the army to finish raising his two younger brothers. In 1948, George and Olive Rodgers Erickson were married.
George was a Christian who served and supported St. Anne's Episcopal Church for many years. He loved and was generous to all people. His hobbies were cows, flowers, vegetables, chickens, building, and woodworking.
George is survived by his daughter, Carabelle Hubbard, and his granchildren: Mike Hubbard Lynn, Ronda Hansen Ronnie, Patrick Hubbard Donna, Robin Kimball Richard, and Roxanne Stevens Charlie as well as eight great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Olive, his brothers: Robert and Donald, his daughter: Thelma Wilmes, grandsons: Mark Gadbaw, Matthew Gadbaw and Joesph Hubbard.
A memorial service will be Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. Anne's Episcopal Church. Straub's Funeral Home and Columbia River Cremation is in charge
