Nicholas Gustafson
Nicholas Alan Gustafson of Washougal returned to his Lord on Saturday, February 28, 2015 with his family by his side. Born on May 20, 2008 in Vancouver, Washington to Jeffrey and Jessica Hargrave Gustafson; Nicholas was 6 years old.
Nicholas was diagnosed as an infant with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Even though he was physically limited, his love for his friends and family and joy for life was ever present. Nicholas enjoyed playing with his robot Mip with his Dad and playing computer games on his Eye Gaze. He loved going on beach trips, boating, visiting the zoo and aquarium, and had a passionate love for animals. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
Nicholas is survived by his loving parents Jeff and Jessica; sister Ella Gustafson; grandparents Randy and Joni Gustafson and Stephanie Smith-Gustafson, Alan and Mary Hargrave; great-grandparents Emma Schmid, Irma Hargrave, and Tom and Elizabeth Smith; uncles Brett Hargrave and Eric Tina Hargrave; aunts Eva Chris Petersen and Jami Kris Kalmbach; and numerous extended family members and friends.
There will be a funeral mass on Tuesday, March 10th at 11:00 am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church: 17010 NE 9th Street, Vancouver, WA 98684. A reception will follow the mass. Private interment will be held at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery. The family requests that those in attendance wear some green as that was Nick's favorite color.
