NORMA DEAN SHAW FREED
January 19, 1932 – February 24, 2015
Norma Dean Freed passed away on February 24, 2015, exactly two years to the day after her beloved late husband Ron.
Norma was born on January 19, 1932 in Sacramento, CA to Frank A. and Iora E. Shaw. Norma met the love of her life, Ron, while he was stationed at Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento, and married him on May 3, 1953.
Norma was a fabulous cook, known especially for her favorite course, dessert. She was an avid quilter, completing more than 70 quilts in her lifetime. She was a talented seamstress and knitter. She loved reading, working in her yard tending to her flowers, stopping at local garage sales to add to her collection of dishes, and playing card games.
Norma is survived by son Ron Sally of Washougal; daughter Sherry Wayne Ruiter of Pasco, WA; son Mark of Camas; grandchildren Kira, Ryne, Brandon and Kalee; great-granddaughter Kinslee; special niece Hisako "Pinky" Bennett of Vancouver; brother Bill of Sacramento; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and treasured friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ron; parents Frank and Iora; brother Jack; and sisters Betty and Dorothy.
