DONALD WAYNE "BING" HUBBARD
Donald Wayne Hubbard was born on Thanksgiving, November 26, 1931, in Eureka, California to Alice Mabel Rudling and Joseph Wade Hubbard. He died January 18, 2015, in Vancouver, Washington. Donald was his father's "little bum." When Donald's late brother, Robert, said "little bum" it sounded like Bing. After that, Bing was his name.
Bing is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carabelle, his sons, Michael Lynn and Patrick Donna; brother, George; grandsons, Brandon, Nik and DejaNik's wife, his grandaughter by marriage as well as Nik and Deja's daughters: Madison, Alleiah, and Lillianna.
Preceding Bing in death were son, Joseph Hubbard, brother, Robert Hubbard, and sister-in-law, Olive Hubbard.
Bing loved sports both watching and playing. During his high school he played football and was a Trico League All Star as a senior, and was the catcher in baseball. As a father he managed little league teams for about 6 years.
His baseball team is the Mariners good or bad. Golf and harmless gambling were also favorites.
A pipefitter, he worked at the Camas Paper Mill for 44 years--last few years the supervisor of those men and women--two women.
Most of all, he loved his family and prayed to himself. Please make any donations to St. Anne's Memorial Fund.
Bing's life was celebrated on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 1PM at St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Washougal. Arrangements were under the direction of Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas. To send condolences or to sign the online guest book please visit www.straubsfuneralhome.com.
