Obituary of David Lee Moreland

DAVID LEE MORELAND David Lee Moreland passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 7:10 PM surrounded by his wife and family. David was born on September 26, 1986 in Orlando, Florida. At the age of 3, the family moved to Bremerton, Washington until 2004 where the family relocated to the Vancouver, Washington area. As a young boy, David was always exploring, building rockets and planes, catching snakes for pets, and riding his bike anywhere he could take it. After graduating from Battle Ground High School on 2005, David went to work for Coca Cola as a merchandiser and in 2008 was awarded Merchandiser of the Year. David loved his job, his coworkers and the huge displays that he used to make in the various stores that he served. In 2011, David met the love of his life, Rachel. The two of them were always together and became a love story for all to see. He enjoyed spending time with Rachel, going to the beach and also to casinos for a couple hours of fun at the slots. He enjoyed spending time with Rachel, his son, Skyler, his family, and his dog, Yode. Family was always a priority. His hobbies included growing his own hops and brewing beer to share, making root beer, racing RC cars wherever he could, going places, and trying new things. In October 2013, David was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia ALL. He stayed in the hospital for four months where he fought cancer. In March, David went into remission. On August 30, 2014, David married his beloved Rachel. In October 2014, David relapsed. The battle started again and David was determined to beat ALL. No matter how hard he fought eventually leukemia took David. David is survived by his wife, Rachel Ottosen, his son, Skyler, his Father, Dennis Moreland and Step-Mother, Vickie, his Mother, Gail, his sisters Brandy Martin, husband Nathan, Katie Demchek, husband, John, Step-Siblings; Shanyn Lindsay, husband, Jordan, Pryce Garrison, wife Kelsey and Taylor Moreland and Grandmother, Rosene Moreland. He was preceded in death by his Grandfather, Frank Moreland of Dubuque, Iowa.
