MYRTLE MADSEN
Myrtle Madsen Passed away December 15, 2014. She was a life, long resident of Skamania County. She was born May 14, 1944 to Henry Hank and J. Lorraine Bevans. Her very early years were spent on the river in a house boat at Mt. Pleasant, later moving to the old town of North Bonneville.
Myrtle graduated from Stevenson High School in 1962.
August 11, 1962 Myrtle married Nels Madsen. They celebrated 52 years this past August. After they were married they settled in Skamania, only moving when they built their new home on the farm in the early seventies.
Myrtle was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and loved to garage sale. Though the years Myrtle was a homemaker and worked in the food and beverage industry in customer service.
Survivors include her husband, Nels, and their three children, Nels JR. of North Bonneville, Lena and Tim Moe of Vancouver, and Mertie and Bill Williams of Skamania. Additionally, she leaves behind seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren, brother, Larry and Carol Jewell of Gladstone, sisters, Lois and Paul Lindsay of Stabler, Henryette Bastrom of Carson, Christy sobaski of Carson, and sister in law Rosemary Bevans of Stabler.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents and brother Charles Bevans.
A celebration of life for Myrtle will be December 27, 2014 at The Shepherd of the Hills fellowship hall in Stevenson, Washington at 1:00 PM. The celebration will be potluck style. Straub's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Please sign the online guest book at www.straubsfuneralhome.com.
