ARTHUR ROGGENKAMP
September 26, 1925 - August 5, 2014
Art Roggenkamp went to be with Jesus on August 5 , 2014. He was born September 26, 1925 in Bluffton, MN . Art is a World War II army veteran serving in the Philippines and in Japan from 1944 through 1946.
Art married Loraine Walz in 1948, they lived in Milwaukee, WI until they moved to Camas, WA in 1966, when he joined his brother George Roggenkamp in the Roggenkamp Construction business where they installed septic tanks, underground water lines and sewer lines. Art and his wife Loraine were married 64 years when she passed away in April, 2012. They raised nine children and enjoyed camping and hunting trips. Some of Art's fondest memories are the trail riding and camping trips in Idaho by horse and mule with his wife Loraine and his brother George and sister-in-law Janice.
Art was an active member of the Circle of Love charismatic prayer group and a Eucharistic minister at St Thomas Catholic Church. He loved the Lord. He had a passion to see America return to the principles of the founding fathers. He had a love for family and looked forward to every gathering of family and friends. Art is survived by 7 of his children, Marilyn of Camas, Bruce of Lake Tapps, WA, Joyce of Santa Cruz, CA, Terry Bonnie of Battle Ground, Linda Dean Johnson of Camas, Neal of Santa Cruz, CA and Keith of Camas, WA; his brother Ivan Roggenkamp of Brainerd, MN, 10 grandsons, one granddaughter and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Loraine, his son, Dale, his daughter, Jenifer, his parents, Joe and Veronica Roggenkamp, 3 sisters Rene Crawford of Camas, Betty and Connie, 6 brothers, Sylvester, Ray, Al, Louie, Harvey, George and Lee.
A Vigil service will be held Thursday August 7, 2014 at Straub's Funeral home at 6:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be on August 8, 2014 at noon at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Camas Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be given to St. Vincent de Paul at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Camas, WA. or to Human Dignity Foundation for the opening of Good Shepherd Manor 325 NE Lechner St, Camas, WA 98607.
