NORMA K. MONAGHAN Norma Monaghan, of Camas, passed away on April 19, 2014 at the age of 86. She was born on July 4, 1927 in Carthage, NY to Arthur and Beatrice Rondeau. They moved to Camas and she would graduate from Camas High School. It was during high school that she met Donald Monaghan and they got married shortly after graduating. Norma worked as a homemaker and at her parents rural store. She would later work as a teacher and administrator for St. Thomas Catholic School. After her and Donald retired they bought a motor home and traveled. She was very active in church and community activities. Norma was also a member of the Moose Lodge and the Red Hat Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; son, David; brother, Robert and sister, Margarite Peggy. Survivors include her sons, Daniel Estelle of Washougal, John Sherry of Camas, Michael Diana of Vancouver, Kelly of Camas; sister, Anne Benson of Vancouver; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A rosary service will be held on Wednesday, April 23 at 7:45 PM at St. Thomas Catholic Church. A memorial mass will follow on Thursday, April 24 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial donations can be given in her memory to Pacific Crest Academy at 324 NE Oak St. Camas, WA 98607.
