Obituary of Dora Lee Rhinehart

Dora Lee Rhinehart peacefully passed away Wednesday March 12th at the Ray Hickey Hospice House with her family close at hand. She was born July 28, 1917, the eldest of 13 children, in Waynesville, North Carolina.
With her husband, Ed and their 5 children, they migrated to Washington in 1948; where their 6th child was born.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ed, her son Gene, daughter Edna Cleona, grandson Marvin Rhinehart and granddaughter Robin Timmons.
Five sisters and four brothers preceded her in death. She is survived by siblings, Eliza Melton, Pat Lawson and brother Jack Ammons.
Also surviving her are her children Bill Rhinehart Janny, Sarah Colson Rod, Charles Rhinehart and Jerry Rhinehart, all in the Vancouver area. She leaves behind many great and great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews who will have fond memories of her forever.
Dora retired from Pendleton Woolen Mills in 1983. She spent her retirement years volunteering at LaCamas Heights Baptist Church, where she was a charter member, as well as the Treasure House in Washougal until her first stroke. She also loved working in her flower garden and in her earlier years riding herd with her 20 grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 18th at the funeral home from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 19th at LaCamas Heights Baptist Church at 11:00 am with a luncheon and fellowship to follow. Private interment will be held at the Fern Prairie Cemetery in Camas. Straub's Funeral Home and Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of the arrangements.
