TERRY D. PERMAN
Terry Dale Perman, age 76, passed away on January 24, 2014. He was born on July 15, 1937 in Bowdle, SD. Terry served his country in the U.S. Air Force and in 1960 moved to Camas with his wife Janice. He worked at the Camas Paper Mill starting as a box boy and worked his way up to Supervisor before the Bag Factory was sold to Port Townsend and moved to Portland. He became the Plant Manager until he retired. In his retirement, he ran the firewood lot on E Street in Washougal. Known as "the firewood guy" he cut, split and delivered firewood until November of 2013. Terry was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and loved baseball, football and regular trips to area casinos, of which he was an avid slot machine player.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janice Perman of Camas; children, Gary Perman Becky of Camas, Lisa Mathis of Forest Grove, OR, Todd Perman of Oceanside, OR, Julie Perman of Saipan, Marianna Islands; sister, Nina Brockel of Selby, S.D.; grandchildren, Jayson Perman, Bradley Mathis, Tyler and Jacob Perman and great grandchild, Charlie Trentz.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 30 at 11AM at Straub's Funeral Home in Camas. A reception will be at The Hearth Restaurant, 1700 Main St., Washougal immediately following the service. Burial will be private at the Camas Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10AM to 5PM at Straub's Funeral Home. Memorial donations can be given to either the Camas or Washougal Lions Clubs.
