Obituary of Robert Boyce Allen

ROBERT BOYCE ALLEN Robert Boyce Allen was born on January 15, 1919 in Parowan, Utah to Robert Erzel Allen and Clara Maude Allen. Boyce spent his early life in Parowan, Victor, ID and Jackson Hole, WY. During the Depression his family moved to Camas where his father began work at the Camas Mill. Boyce would later start working as an auto mechanic for the Chrysler Dealership. In 1940 he would marry Marie Edgerly of Camas and they made their home in Washougal. It was in Washougal that Boyce and his father built a log cabin on G St. and the family started to grow when daughter Joyce was born. WWII started and Boyce was drafted into the Army. He served under General McArthur in the Pacific Theater, including New Guinea, the Philippines and Japan. When he returned home the family grew quickly when sons, Cliff, Lynn and then Lee joined their big sister, Joyce. Boyce relocated the family to Fern Prairie in 1958. He worked at Camas Motors and later Columbia River Trucking before finally retiring. Boyce and Marie were involved with their children's activities which included Cub Scouts and Little League. They were also active members of the local community. Marie passed away in 2002. He is survived by his children, Joyce, Cliff, Lynn and Lee. His sister, Janine Stilson along with 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
