Robert Dale Carlson
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Lacamas Heights Baptist Church, 4727 NE Everett Drive, Camas, Washington, for Robert Dale Carlson, who died on November 19, 2013 at age 85.
Robert Carlson was born May 2, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Lane Technical High School in Chicago. He served in the Korean War from 1950 to 1952 in the United States Army, 140th Tank Battalion and in the Army Reserves from 1952 to 1956. On February 5, 1955 Robert married Ruth Charlotte Vogt and settled in Glenview, Illinois. In 1957 their son Kenneth was born, followed by Kevin in 1959 and Kristofer in 1963. In the fall of 1964, Robert moved with his family to Iowa City, Iowa and attended Iowa State University where he studied physics and engineering. In 1967 Robert and his family moved to Danville, California where he lived for 25 years. While living in Danville, Robert was an active member of Community Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed a long career as an electrical engineer and retired in 1990. In 1992, Robert and Ruth moved to Camas, Washington where they were able to spend their remaining years near their three sons and 8 of their grandchildren. He was a beloved member of GracePoint Fellowship in Camas, Washington.
Survivors include his sons Kenneth of Camas, WA, Kevin of Knoxville, TN, and Kristofer of Camas, WA, ten grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
