Obituary of Lynn Keith Koppang

LYNN KEITH KOPPANG Lynn Koppang, a proud Army veteran, passed away on Memorial Day, May 27, 2013. He was born at home near Portland, ND, the son of Alfred and Ingeborg Koppang. He graduated from Mayville High School and in 1950 he joined the Army serving two years of active duty and five years in the reserve. After his service he attended Dakota Business School in Fargo, where he met his future wife, Marian Sparks. They married in 1954. In 1966 they moved to Salem, OR where they lived for 33 years. Lynn worked as a bookkeeper/accountant for several businesses before retiring and moving to Vancouver in 1999. They became members of Zion Lutheran Church in Camas and he enjoyed RV'ing and watching the Trail Blazers and Mariners. Lynn is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marian; son, Paul Koppang; daughter, Lori James Knoetzel; brother, Clinton Koppang; sister, Adelaide Hanson and 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Cheryl Ione Kumm. His life was celebrated along with military honors at Zion Lutheran Church on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11AM. Private inurnment was at Willamette National Cemetery. Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas was in charge of the arrangements.
