FLORENCE WALDEN
Florence Ethel Wagner Walden was born on November 18, 1910 to Spencer and Sabrina Wagner in Hill City, KS. She passed away on February 20, 2013 at the age of 102 in Vancouver, WA.
She married Robert Dale Walden on June 17, 1928. They moved from Kansas to Camas, WA, following their wedding where they raised two sons.
Florence was employed at J.C. Penny's in Vancouver as a salesperson. After retiring, she began to travel. She visited 26 countries and loved making friends with strangers. She still corresponded with many of them.
She was a member of the Camas Christian Church.
Besides traveling, she enjoyed dancing, reading and spending time with her family.
Following her husband's death in 2000, she resided at The Bedford Retirement Home where she liked to play Bingo and go on bus trips.
She is survived by son, Paul and wife, Bonnie of Battle Ground; son, J. Cecil and wife, Judy of Moyie Springs, ID; five grandchildren, Grant, Bryan, Lisa, Matt and Mark along with nine great grandchildren.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, her parents and two brothers, James Cecil Wagner and Clyde Arthur Wagner and a foster brother Jay Lewis Kimberly.
A private graveside service is scheduled at the Camas Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be at The Bedford, 13303 SE McGillivray Blvd. on Saturday, March 2, beginning at 2PM.
