I don’t remember the exact day that I met the Steenecks, but it was soon after the family moved to Wilton, CT in 1970. Judy & my mom bonded over being Girl Scout leaders & making very intricate storybook character ornaments that I still put up every year! Kathy became (& still is) a dear friend. Judy was always great at welcoming friends & having theme parties on Dorado Court! We have many memories together. I am one of the lucky ones to have received a knitted blue & gray graduation blanket from Judy. It sits over a chair in my bedroom as I write this.
The Steeneck family visited us at our cabin up in Canada one summer—maybe 1975(?) and I remember watching them land at the little town airstrip in their plane. I was so excited! Most recently, I was blessed to see Judy out in Fort Collins in 2017. She enjoyed showing me the view from her deck & we had lunch with Kathy in town. She had that lovely, warm smile that I will always remember. She is a piece of my life story. Xox
