Clara Faye Schanilec, age 86, of Washougal, Washington, passed away on September 7, 2024. Born February 27, 1938, Clara, affectionately known as Faye, was a warm and beloved member of her community, known for her sweet and likable personality and dedication to her family.

Faye graduated from Walsh County Agricultural School, North Dakota 1956. She devoted much of her life to her family as a dedicated mother and wife. As a business owner, Faye worked with her husband Vernon to create and run successful pharmacy businesses. She continued as a pharmacy technician thereafter. Her commitment to community service was evident in her long-standing volunteer work with the All Faith Treasure House Thrift Store, where she diligently processed donations for 16 years.

A talented and prolific quilter, Faye created 1,135 quilt tops over six years for the Zion Lutheran Church donation-based Quilters Group in Camas, WA, where she was an active member. Her involvement with the church extended to participation in the choir, parish council, and various committees.

Her love for her community was recognized in 2000 when she was crowned Camas Days Queen, an honor reflecting her significant contributions and spirit.

Faye is survived by her husband, Vernon; daughter, Debra Schanilec; son, Kevin (Jeanette) Schanilec; granddaughter, Karya Schanilec; grandson, Brian Gill; and niece, Sharon Nilles.

Faye's life was marked by her unwavering support for her family, her passion for service, and her kind-hearted nature. Her legacy of love and dedication will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
