David Brian Manecke, a beloved member of the Vancouver, Washington community, passed away on May 14, 2024, at the age of 61. Born on May 10, 1963, David was the cherished son of the late James and Joyce Manecke of Washougal, Washington.

David's journey began in Washougal, where he spent his formative years surrounded by the love of his family. He graduated from Washougal High School in 1981, laying the foundation for a life dedicated to learning and growth. He pursued his passion for forestry, earning a degree from Mount Hood Community College, and furthered his education at Clark College, where he obtained a Mechanics Degree, showcasing his
dedication to both the natural world and practical craftsmanship.

Professionally, David was esteemed as a Machine Mechanic at Big Al's in Vancouver, Washington, where his skills and expertise were invaluable to his colleagues and the community alike. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in all that he did, earning him the respect and admiration of those around him.

David was an accomplished bowler, always striving for the perfect “300” game which he accomplished several times. On his days off you could find David bowling in league games or bowling on the occasional Monte Carlo night. One of David’s favorite things to do was to attend the annual National Bowling Tournament, where he could test his skills.

Whether it be a family game night, cheering on his favorite teams, or attending a family members game, David always had love for all sports and a competitive spirit. He was a diehard Seahawks, Mariners, and Washington State Cougar fan, but he also loved the local Portland sports teams and was known to attend the occasional Winterhawks, Trail Blazers, Timbers, or Thorns game.

Beyond his professional pursuits, David was known for his kind heart and gentle spirit. He touched the lives of many with his warmth, generosity, and unwavering compassion. His presence brought joy to those fortunate enough to know him, leaving a lasting imprint on the hearts of all who had the privilege of crossing his path.
