Obituary of Carol Louise Wurzer
On February 27 th , 2024, Carol Louise Wurzer died in her Camas home. She was 82 years old.
She is survived by her children, James (Minna) Wurzer of Camas, and JoeAnne Wurzer of Camas; sisters Joyce Christopher of Vancouver, and Linda Wurzer of Camas. She was preceded in death by her husband Ivan Wurzer, and siblings Bob Smith, Darlene Faulkner, Sharon Kemper, and Dale Smith. She also leaves behind two granddaughters, Mary-Elizabeth Wurzer and Lauren Wurzer.
Carol was born on October 20 th of 1941 in Vancouver, Washington. She graduated from Evergreen High School in 1959. She married Ivan in 1964. They met as neighbors living in Washougal, Washington. They adopted their first child James in 1967, and second child JoeAnne in 1968. Carol had several hobbies through her life, including curating houseplants, cake decorating, gardening, reading, and she loved traveling to the beach and camping. She loved being “grandma”, and spent a lot of time with her grandchildren, coloring, reading, playing games and attending their school events.
A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, March 9 th , at 10:00 AM at Gateway Community Church in Washougal, Washington. It will be followed by a graveside burial ceremony at the Camas Cemetery, with a reception at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in the Parish Hall.
