Obituary of Mark Douglas Catron
MARK DOUGLAS CATRON
October 13, 1964 ˜ May 14, 2023
Mark Douglas Catron, 58, of Camas, WA, passed away at home on May 14, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Mark was born on Oct. 13, 1964, in Walla Walla, WA. to Richard and Judith (Hirst) Catron. He attended Stevenson High School and lived most of his life in the Gorge. Mark started a family and began working from a young age. He had many skills that he gained from jobs over the years and spent the majority of his professional career as an aerial mechanic. He could fix or troubleshoot anything, so people often sought out his advice.
To say Mark was “hard working” would be an understatement. His commitment to providing for his family was one of his highest priorities and he instilled this in his children by teaching them not just to go to work but to work hard to better your family no matter how difficult the circumstance.
A few of the things Mark loved were scary movies, decorating for the holidays, scaring his grandkids, Chevy’s, and organizing his tools to do home projects and projects with the grandkids. He also loved visiting the coast, hiking, and sharing stories and funny memories.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Richard Catron; his mother, Judith Catron; and brothers, Brian Catron and Wallace Catron. He is survived by his beloved wife of 10 years, Kimberly Jones; sister, Michelle Catron; sons, Kristopher Catron (Brittany), Tyler Catron (Jessica), and Mark Catron Jr.; daughters, Aimee Thomas (Julien), Hollie Hill (Brad), and Nikkole Catron (Tanner); 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A potluck celebration of life will be held at Fallen Leaf Lake Park, 2911 N.E. Everett St., Camas, WA, on Monday, Aug. 21, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. Dress is casual or wear your favorite band t-shirt to honor Mark’s love of music.
