TERRY DEAN ARVIDSON
Our beloved brother, uncle and friend, Terry Dean Arvidson concluded his mortal journey on Jan. 19, 2013. He was a true renaissance man, with a love for nature, photography, family and dear friends. He will be greatly missed, but he will never be far from our thoughts.
Terry was born in Vancouver, WA on November 21, 1946, son of the late Carl and June Jarvis Arvidson. He completed all his schooling in Camas, including graduating from Camas High in 1965, where he served as Senior Class President. He also worked at Nobles Grocery during his high school years.
Following high school, Terry served his country in the United States Army in Germany from 1966 to 1968. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Terry worked in a variety of fields and a number of positions. He was trained in plastics technology, and was a certified massage therapist. He retired from Columbia/Okura, a robotics enterprise, in 2009.
Terry loved the outdoors and everything about the Pacific Northwest. He was a free spirit who traveled extensively around the globe, amassing memories and friends wherever he went. He never missed an opportunity to venture into the woods or the majestic mountains of his native home. He loved bluegrass music, and played the banjo.
Terry also had a deep spiritual side to him. He was a member of the Mt. Norway Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he enjoyed the fellowship of the members, loved teaching the Gospel lessons, and serving alongside his brethren in the quorum.
Terry is survived by his five sisters, Beverly Meza Tony, Shirley Kanekoa Bobby, Carla Nichols Bob, Linda Balholm Eric, and Janice Gee Erin. He was a beloved uncle to 23 nephews and nieces and great-uncle to their many children. His family members want to express their sincere appreciation to those devoted individuals who have been friends to Terry throughout his life.
Funeral services will be held in the Mt. Norway Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3920 Q St. Washougal, on Friday, January 25 at 11AM. Interment will be at the Camas Cemetery. Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas is in charge of the arrangements. To send condolences or to sign the online guest book please visit www.straubsfuneralhome.com.
