Stanley Leroy Haag, a long-time resident of Washougal , WA, died peacefully in his home on January 23, 2023. He was 80 years old. Stan was born in Kadoka, South Dakota to Howard and Evelyn (McMahon) Haag, and was blessed with eight siblings who were his friends all through life. Stan’s family moved to Clark County in the 50’s. After serving his country in the Navy, he returned to Washougal where he raised his three daughters and created a legacy for his children and grandchildren. He was a strong presence in the lives of his family, setting an example of hard work, compassion, and having fun. Stan enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, and vacations with his brothers and sisters to Mazatlán and Hood Canal. He was an active person who liked to be busy, and even in retirement he worked tirelessly around his yard. Stan was a kind man who was liked by all who knew him, and he had a huge heart. He was blessed with a large extended family and lots of love, but first and foremost, his children and grandchildren were his greatest treasure and he loved them beyond measure. His grandkids have lots of wonderful memories of playing at papa’s house, golf cart rides, and eating his homemade French fries. Stan was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers LuVerne and Danny Haag, sister-in-law Bettie Haag, and brother-in-law Gary Horton. He is survived by siblings Fritz (Judy) Haag, Ray Haag, Judy (Barry) Smith, Suzanne (Ric) Watts, LaVonne Horton, and Jim (Jill) Haag. He is also survived by his loving children, Leann (Ray) Wilkins, Sadie Haag (Dustin Goodwin), and Molly Morris; grandchildren Taylor (Mathew), Deric, Dylan, Kyra, Karlie, Ellison, Bryce, Presley, and Grace; and great-grandchildren Ariel and Masen.
