BETTY JEAN MILLER Betty Jean Miller, age 82, of Washougal passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2013. She was born to the late Walt and Lillian Campbell on June 25, 1930, in the neighboring city of Camas. Upon marriage to John A. Miller on May 11, 1951, they resided and raised their family of five children in Washougal with Betty, a homemaker, and John working at Crown Zellerbach. Betty was an amazing cook, baker, and seamstress. In addition to caring for her immediate family, she could also be found helping all of those living in her neighborhood. Betty participated and appreciated many activities. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed ceramics, fishing, picking wild berries and mushrooms, rock hounding, and camping throughout the Northwest. Their yard showed her love of gardening and flowers, especially roses. Every year, Betty would donate a wide variety of vegetables to the "Treasure House" in Camas. A favorite pastime was traveling to Reno, often returning with sufficient winnings to pay for their trip. Betty is survived by many loving family members including her husband, her children Paul Kathy Miller, Doug Faith Miller, Nancy Chuck Cook, Brian Melissa Miller, David Miller, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren; and siblings, Joyce Collins and Walt Ann Campbell. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Dorothy. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Straub's Funeral Home & Columbia River Cremation in Camas. Private family services will be held.
