ANNE MARIE SEITZ
Anne Marie Seitz passed away on January 19, 2013 at her home in Washougal at the age of 36 after a long battle with cancer. As she would say, "It is what it is," and she focused each day to fully living, loving and fighting the disease that ultimately took her life. Her life may have been short, but she fully lived every moment of it.
Anne was born on January 9, 1977 in Portland, OR, and grew up around the state of Oregon – including the cities of Sandy, Maupin, Wamic, Portland and Salem. It was in 1993 when Anne moved to Salem, OR, to finish high school that she met the love of her life, Joshua Seitz. As high school sweethearts, they graduated from South Salem together, and have been inseparable ever since. Anne attended Mt. Hood Community College where she studied Respiratory Therapy, and then finished her Bachelor's Degree in Biology at Portland State University. Anne had always wanted to be a doctor, and while working at Providence Portland Medical Center as a Respiratory Therapist and Sleep Lab Technician, she took the steps toward and was ultimately accepted into the National College of Natural Medicine.
Anne and Josh married on April 28, 2001. After the arrival of their first child, Andrew, Anne made the decision not to pursue medical school, but rather to focus her time, love and energy on being a fabulous mother. Anne's first passion and most devoted role was that of wife and mother. Being an amazing wife to Josh and mother to Andrew and Theodore "Teddy" was her greatest accomplishment - the one thing she was the most proud of. Anne also enjoyed golfing, fishing, shopping she was quite the bargain finder! and volunteering at the kids' school.
She is survived by her husband, Josh and two sons, Andrew and Theodore all of Washougal; parents, Jim & Vanessa Harlow of Salem, and Mary K. Harlow of Washougal; sister, Whitney Yazzolino Rick of Portland; brother, Mike Carlson Sara of Bristol, Tennessee, step-brothers Jeremy Jensen of Salem, OR and Joseph Jensen Laura of Spokane, WA, and several life-long, loyal friends.
A public funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 12PM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Camas, WA. Interment will be private at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery.
