Obituary of Elizabeth Irene Sellers

ELIZABETH "BETTY" IRENE SELLERS January 4, 1925 ~ October 23, 2012 "Betty was a loving mentor to her family." Elizabeth "Betty" Irene Sellers of Washougal, WA, passed away on Oct. 23, 2012 at the age of 87. She was the 2nd of eight children born to Francis and Frankie Carroll on Jan. 4, 1925 in Hallock, MN. The family later came west in a 1928 Model T Ford. Betty worked for many years at the Pendleton Woolen Mills in Washougal. In 1946, she married Johnny Sellers. Together, they had a son, David and then adopted their son, Nathan. After Johnny's passing in 1966, Betty continued farming and raising cattle on their Mt. Pleasant farm. She loved going to garage sales and often had sales of her own. She was a painter, specializing in landscape painting. Betty is survived by sons, David and Nathan Madeleine Sellers; sisters, Pat terHorst of Washougal and Rose Marie Downing of Amboy, WA; brothers, Roger Carroll of Camas, WA and Francis Carroll of Washougal. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny; parents, Francis and Frankie Carroll; sisters, Colleen Mueller and Elenita Carroll; and brother, John Carroll. A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Fri., Oct. 26, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Washougal Memorial Cemetery and a Mind Mass will be held at a later date.
