Obituary of Robert Michael Gibson
Robert “Mike” Michael Gibson, 65, passed away in his home on Sunday, September 24, 2017. He was born on April 4, 1952, to Robert Lee and Betty Jean (Williams) Gibson in Jonesboro, Arkansas. After spending most of his childhood in Cash, Arkansas, Mike moved to Flint, Michigan, in 1968. He was a graduate of Carmen High School, class of 1970. After high school, Mike joined the Army National Guard. He worked for General Motors Truck and Bus, and was a member of UAW Local 598. In 1999, Mike moved to Scottsville, Kentucky, where he worked for General Motors Corvette, and was a member of UAW Local 2164. Mike was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 1042, in Camas-Washougal, Washington, as well as a member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Elizabeth (Clark) Gibson of Washougal, Washington; daughter and son in-law Wendy (Gibson) and Gregory Cook of Portland, Oregon; daughter and son in-law Jennifer (Bellamy) Gugel and Eric Shidler of Bowling Green, Kentucky; sister Vicky (Ellis) Jenkins; 7 grandchildren--Emily, Matthew, Jacob, Chase, Liam, Miles, and Henry; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to all. He was proceeded in death by his parents; and brother, Dennis Gibson.
