Obituary of Edna Wysaske
Please share a memory of Edna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Edna “Marge” (Solum) Wysaske died peacefully in Camas, Washington, on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Born November 26, 1923 in Cleveland Township, Wisconsin, Marge left the family farm after completing school and moved to Seattle, where she worked as a telephone operator. During that time, she became acquainted with U.S. Army Air Corps pilot, Walter R. Wysaske, to whom she was later wed. Walter and Marge were blissfully married for 56 years before his passing in 2000, raising four children together in Washougal, Washington.
A devoted wife and mother, Marge was adored by family and friends. She had a talent for flower-gardening and enjoyed spending time with loved ones in the great outdoors — she was particularly fond of hiking, picking huckleberries and hunting for mushrooms. Her flowerbeds at their homes in Washougal, Camas and later, Silver Lake, Washington, were always beautifully in bloom.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband Walter Wysaske, her daughter Paulette Russell, and son, Wayne Wysaske. She is survived by her sons Ron and Tim Wysaske, her 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren who knew her as “Nana.” There will be a private family service.
